I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m loving these elopement / micro weddings! They are so intimate and less about the showy stuff, more about the family bonds and I am here for it! One of the things I loved about my own wedding was the size. I knew pretty much everyone there aside from a few who were invited by my in-laws but in the grand scheme of weddings, knowing everyone there is something that should be pretty common. You’d be surprised by how many of my couples I talk to who tell me they literally don’t know half of their guests because their parents just insisted they be invited because they’re family. Now I know this may be a sensitive topic for some, but if you ask me, and if you ask Richard and Rikki, we would all agree, the smaller guest count, the better!
When Richard reached out to me about photographing his elopement to Rikki, I was so excited! From his email I could tell they were a fun loving and down to earth couple and those are my favorite type of people to work with. They didn’t give me a shot list, they didn’t have any extravagant requests, they simply gave me full and creative control and ended up loving their final gallery for it! I will forever be thankful for couples like Richard and Rikki. When it was time for me to head out, I felt like I was saying bye to my friends even though I had only just met them 4 hours prior. That is seriously the best feeling!
Richard and Rikki, thank you so much for allowing me to be your professional third wheel on your wedding day! It was the perfect summer day and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and love that I know you’ll receive from one another for the rest of your days!
