This couple, I have no words but I will do my best to express just how much being a part of their day meant to me. It started when I showed up to the most gorgeous house I’ve ever been inside. This is where Emily and her girls were getting ready. Shortly after I greeted everyone and started setting up to shoot Emily’s details, Emily greeted me with a very special gift basket. A gift for me on HER wedding day. WHAT? Seriously, how did I get so lucky with these couples?! She then explained just how much my work means to her and after some tears and hugs from both of us, we started the day on literally the best high note I could have asked for.
I felt like I was getting a private tour of St. Lawrence University when it came time to do Emily and Ben’s first look and portraits. We piled into a golf cart and took it to all the of spots around campus that Emily had scouted ahead of time. Now if you know me, you know I like to do the scouting instead of my clients because I know what kind of light I like to shoot in to achieve my personal style, but Emily has an eye for this kind of thing and all but one of the locations was just absolutely stunning and the light was PERFECT.
After portraits it was time for the ceremony and then the most beautiful laid back tent reception right off of a beautiful golf course. This wedding meant so much to me, not just because I felt like Emily and I truly connected as friends, but because her friends and family were just as sweet as she was. Her parents made sure to pull me aside multiple times to express their appreciation for me and my work and that meant the world to me. Clients families can make or break an experience, and in this case, Emily and Ben’s families made my time with them just 10x better than it already was.
I could honestly go on and on and on, but long story short Emily and Ben, it was an absolute honor and pleasure being a part of your wedding day. I loved every minute of our time together and I miss working with you guys already! I wish you nothing but the best and hey, if you ever decide to renew your marriage vows in France, you know who to call 😉
