Planning a wedding can be downright DAUNTING. I know, I’ve been there. Just when you think you have everything planned and under control, something comes along and knocks one thing out of place which tends to have a ripple effect. If you’ve been following me for a while (first of all THANK YOU!), you know that I don’t want to be just another vendor on a seemingly never-ending list of professionals. I want to be a friend, a helper, an encourager, and above all, help alleviate any stressors that I can both before, day of, and afterwards as well. This is why I decided to put together a list of all of the vendors I absolutely love working with on wedding days to hopefully help you in your planning process! These vendors have the knowledge, expertise, and raving reviews to back them up so you can rest assured that picking someone from this list will surely help to make your date the best it can be! Of course you’ll want to do your research as well. Just because I love them doesn’t necessarily mean that you will, and you want to make sure that everyone you hire is a good fit for you and the type of celebration you’re looking to have. I hope this helps!
VENUES – I’ve photographed multiple weddings at Mirror Lake Inn and it’s easily in my top favorites! Some other spots you can’t go wrong – Whiteface Lodge, Valcour Inn and Boathouse, Harmony Golf Club, and last but not least TENT WEDDINGS! This option obviously isn’t a venue per se but I love love LOVE tent weddings! The lighting is always beautiful, you’re protected from the elements while still being outside, and you can decorate them to perfectly fit your vision! You really can’t go wrong with a good tent in my opinion 🙂
HMU – I love Nicolette Terry of Vignette & Vogue, she actually did my hair and makeup for my wedding back in 2015 and she’s the sweetest! Another gem is The Painted Pair, their work is STUNNING!
FLORALS – Boquet Valley Blooms, Mossbrook Roots and Black Sheep Gardens. All three companies produce gorgeous arrangements and are in my opinion hands down the best in the area!
DESSERT – North Country Cakes is located in VT but they do beautiful work and if their cakes taste as good as they look, I can imagine they are delicious! Cake by Alissa and The Fancy Cake Box are both located in NY and another good choice. While I haven’t gotten the chance to work with them directly, I’ve heard good things!
DJ/ENTERTAINMENT – Jamel Mosely of Intell Hayesfield is absolutely incredible! I had a couple whose DJ was unable to attend last minute and Jamel not only saved the day but literally everyone was on the dance floor having the time of their lives the entire night! I can’t recommend him enough! Conway Entertainment is another super fun DJ choice! I was able to work with them at a wedding in August of 2019 and everyone had a blast, glow sticks and all!
STATIONARY – I LOVE Handmade Darling‘s work, it’s fully customizable and so unique and beautiful!
VIDEOGRAPHY – I’ve worked with Bear in Motion, Ebabil Film, Sean Patrick Cinematography, and Fyvie Films. All were great!
It’s important to remember that wedding vendors book up FAST so once you know who you want to book, reach out ASAP and reserve them for your date! I speak from experience when I say it’s so heartbreaking having to turn down inquiries because I’m already booked. I wish there could be more of me so I could serve everyone but that’s just not the reality. When I was planning our wedding, I found it helpful to pick my top 3 vendors and made sure to book them first. That way I knew my top picks were locked in and I didn’t have to worry about that. After your top 3 vendors are booked, then you can move on to booking the rest of your vendors. This can help you stay within budget because since your top 3 picks are already in place, you’ll know how much money you have left to work with and who you can or can’t book.
Your wedding day is supposed to be one of the best days of your life, don’t let the planning process get you so stressed that you start to resent it. If you start to feel overwhelmed, take a step back and see what you can outsource to a family member or bridal party member that you trust. You don’t have to be the one researching everything! I hope this was helpful to you and I wish you all the best in your wedding planning!
