You know when you meet a genuine sweet soul and you just think to yourself, “wow, if everyone were more like this, the world would be such a better place…” well that’s how I felt when I first met Cammey. To know her is to love her. She is honestly one of the sweetest humans I have had the pleasure of working with! She always has a smile on her face, she’s so down to earth, has the nicest friends and family, I remember thinking I was the lucky one when she picked me to be her wedding photographer!
It’s people and interactions like that, that are the icing on the cake to my already intense love for this job. When I met up with Cammey and Connor at their rehearsal dinner the night before their wedding day, the atmosphere was filled with joy, genuine interactions, laughter, and excitement. It was such a fun time meeting everyone before the big day and was actually a first for me! Because Cammey and Connor already had an engagement session done before booking me, they opted for rehearsal dinner coverage instead and at first I will admit I was bummed (I love photographing engagement sessions!) but it turned out to be just as fun and we even had time to sneak away for a few portraits!
When I showed up the next morning for the wedding, the joy and excitement had clearly carried over and everyone welcomed me back with open arms which honestly means the world to me. It’s not always easy walking into a getting ready space with a room full of woman and connecting with them instantly, but Cammey and her girls made me feel like a part of the crew which helped me feel so much more relaxed and ready to take on the day!
It was a beautiful celebration with special touches everywhere which made Cammey and Connor’s day that much more unique and memorable. The two of them together had me laughing all day, especially when it came time to cut the cake. I remember giving them the instructions on how best to do it for photo purposes and they both made a funny face to which I laughed and asked what was wrong. They both looked at me and said “we don’t really like cake.” I couldn’t help it, I laughed out loud and asked why they even had one then and they said they didn’t feel like trying to find an alternative. They were good sports and ate their small pieces all for the sake of the pictures, but they had me laughing with quirky remarks like that all day and night!
Cammey and Connor, I can’t thank you enough for inviting me into your lives on such a special day and allowing me to document it all. It was truly an honor and I hope you enjoy re-living such a fun day through some of my favorite images!
