A Camp Pok-O-MacCready Engagement Session
This one is for the books guys, just wait until you see these incredible images!!! That makes me sound like I’m tooting my own horn but when you have a super fun couple in the perfect location, with the perfect lighting, you get great images! That’s all there is to it! 😉
Michaela reached out to me back in April about a summer 2020 Adirondack wedding at Pok-O-MacCready Camp where her fiance, Alex used to attend as a kid. I was all for this but honestly wasn’t sure what to expect! I’ve lived here for the majority of my life but I only seem to visit the most common spots like Point au Roche, Pokamoonshine, Lake Placid, etc. so I had never heard of this camp before! That’s one of the many things I love about this job. I am able to meet great couples who end up taking me to new places and I’m so incredibly thankful for that! I used to be scared of new locations, until I learned how to find good light in any situation. Once you can nail that, new places become exciting instead of scary 🙂
I met up with Michaela and Alex at the 1812 Homestead in Willsboro, NY. For those not from around here, that’s waaayyyyyyyy upstate New York, yes further north than Albany 😉 We walked around the property chatting, getting to know each other, getting them comfortable in front of my camera, making friends with sheep, taking some goofy photos as well as some stunners, then made our way to the cutest little covered bridge on the nearby nature trail. It was amazing and I loved how walking only a few feet into the nature trail gave us such good variety in their gallery! At this point in our session, it was obvious to me that these two are the best of friends. They were up for anything as long as it meant they were going to be doing it together and having fun!
After our nature trail adventure, Michaela and Alex changed into their more format outfit of the session, and off we went on a 20 minute hike up a nearby mountain to finish off our time together with some amazing views and images to go with it. I will admit, I was sliiiightly embarrassed at how out of shape I was (and still am!) But I did just push out a baby so I’m using that as my excuse haha!
Michaela and Alex, I can’t thank you enough for just being you the entire time we were together (and for carrying my 20lb camera bag up a mountain!). It’s people like you who make me love what I do even more and I feel so thankful that you have invited me into this season of your lives together. I can’t wait to reconnect at your wedding! It’s going to be amazing!
