Michaela & Alex | Married

March 29, 2022

Lesson #1 to any new photographers out there…ALWAYS show up to wedding days EARLY! My rule of thumb is to arrive no less than 30 minutes early to each wedding to account for traffic, weather, location scouting, direction mishaps, etc. This was one of those wedding days I’m so glad I set this rule for myself! I ended up arriving about 45-50 minutes early to this wedding which was such a blessing in disguise because the majority of that time was used trying to find where Michaela was getting ready! It was absolutely no fault of hers, she warned me it would be tricky ahead of time so she provided me with great visual aids and maps, but alas, I still had no idea where I was when I arrived, ha! Luckily, I ended up running into a group of people who were actually friends of Michaela and Alex so they knew all the ins and outs of where we were and where Michaela and Alex were each getting ready! They took me right to them and I was so thankful!

After that little hiccup, the day went off without a hitch and it was a beautiful summer wedding set in the unbeatable Adirondacks. This was my first time photographing a wedding at this particular venue which is actually a summer camp that Alex used to attend, so it holds such special meaning to them and their families. Michaela and Alex are the epitome of “work hard play hard”. They are both ambitious and two of the most adventurous people I’ve ever met! Right before their wedding, they completed the most epic bike trip that took them about 1,400 miles!! Yep, you read that right. These two mean business and they were 110% meant for one another. They met while working at a Patagonia store, which just makes sense 😉

Michaela and Alex, thank you so much for including me in such a special day. You and your loved ones welcomed me with open arms and I can’t thank you enough for your hospitality and generosity. You’re one of those couples that will stick with me for a long time for all the right reasons and I wish you both a lifetime of adventures 🙂

This day would not have been possible without the effort of these amazing vendors!:
