Oh you guys…this blog post is so incredibly special to me. It’s my second official wedding, meaning I was the sole photographer, so that’s super exciting BUT what makes this even more special, is the fact that it’s my best friends wedding blog post. CUE THE TEARS! If you’re a loyal blog reader, you’ll recognize Abby & Joey from previous posts, but this one takes the cake (or pie in their case!) and then some.
It wasn’t long after Abby and I became friends that she booked me as her wedding photographer. I was hesitant and VERY transparent with her in regards to the fact that at the time, I had yet to even photograph a wedding. She didn’t care. She trusted me from the very beginning and has been one of my biggest supporters ever since. That’s just who she is. She’s one of the nicest people I have ever met. She makes me laugh, she calls me out when I need it, she encourages me to go after what I want, and she is always offering and willing to help with anything that I need. I value the friendship I have with Abby and I truly feel like our life paths were always meant to cross. I only wish we would have met years earlier! I’m not as close with Joey but from the time we have spent together, I know Abby has found her perfect match. They balance each other out in the most perfect ways and it’s obvious they are the best of friends. PS ladies – find yourselves a man who looks at you the way Joey looks at Abby – just wait until you see!!
I put a lot of pressure on myself to make sure I captured Abby & Joey’s day to the absolute best of my ability. Of course, I’m always nervous, excited, anxious and want to perform to the best of my ability for all of my couples big days! But I feel like there’s always a little added pressure when you are close friends with the bride and/or groom. Luckily, I knew from the beginning it wasn’t going to be very hard to try and make this wedding look good. Abby was always keeping me up to date when it came to decorations, colors, outfit choices, jewelry, etc. and with each thing she told me had decided to do, I just kept telling her “Girl, your wedding is going to be absolutely AMAZING!” And guess what? I was right!!
Abby & Joey, I don’t have the words to tell you how thankful I am that you trusted me from the very beginning to capture one of the most important days of your lives together. I will be forever grateful and I hope you love these images as much as I do! I love you guys and I wish you the best adventures that life has to offer!
