A downtown Plattsburgh engagement session
Another engagement session in downtown Plattsburgh with another adorable couple!! Chelsey & Thomas were the first 2019 couple to book me back in April! I remember when the inquiry came in, I saw that I was recommended to them by my brother-in-law (thank you Adrian!) and a well known local husband and wife photography team, Jared & Debbie, which was so incredibly exciting! What also got me excited? Their inquiry said the venue they choose was a brand new barn venue about 30 minutes out of town (more on that in a bit!)
As their engagement session date got closer, Chelsey and I were busy messaging back and forth to finalize the details of outfits, time to meet, location, etc. I was already looking forward to meeting this couple, but when she said she was hoping to get shots of them with their fur babies as well, I could hardly wait! If you know me, you know I’m a MASSIVE dog lover and I will never say no if clients ask to bring their dogs along. We decided to get the shots with the pups done first, that way they could get picked up after their time in the spotlight and then we would be free to walk around downtown for the rest of the session.
For the next hour and a half, the 3 of us walked around talking about our fur children, jobs, how they know my little brother as well as my brother-in-law, and talking about wedding plans. Remember that barn I mentioned? WELL, I asked Chelsey if she was shown pictures of what the finished barn would look like when she booked that venue. She said no but that it was being modeled after a popular barn wedding venue in Virginia. She said she only had Pinterest shots of it and pulled out her phone to show me. GUYS. If you follow me on social media, you know how much I love Katelyn James and one of her favorite places to shoot weddings is at Pippin Hill. GUESS WHAT BARN THIS LOCAL VENUE IS MODELING THEIR NEW BARN AFTER??? I’M. SO. EXCITED. I probably scared Chelsey and Thomas with my excitement #sorrynotsorry guys haha! The barn is so incredibly beautiful and we don’t have anything like it around here so I have no doubt it will become a very popular wedding venue choice for couples.
