A Trapp Family Lodge Engagement Session | Stowe, Vermont
Here it is! My last engagement session blog post of 2019 and it’s definitely one of my favorites! I can’t believe it’s almost 2020…this year really felt like it flew right by and I know I say that about every year, but this year just seemed to go extra fast. I think I have a certain little human to blame for that 😉 Just as I also say every year, this year was filled with super sweet couples that make me realize time and time again why I love this job.
I got to meet up with Emily and Ben a few days ago for their Stowe, VT engagement session and we really lucked out with the weather, and I mean REALLY lucked out. We were seeing high’s in the single digits just days before their scheduled session so when the day was inching closer, I was getting more and more nervous because this was our one and only shot at having this session! Emily and Ben actually live in FRANCE, so it’s not like we could have just rescheduled. We were set for this session, rain, snow, ice, or whatever else but we lucked out and got a day in the 40’s! However, the windchill made it feel much colder so I was super thankful that we got what we got! Emily and Ben were champs through the whole session and only started to get REALLY cold towards the end when the sun was starting to dip below the mountains so it was really perfect timing!
We had a blast walking around the grounds of the Trapp Family Lodge. We originally were supposed to meet just on the outskirts of Stowe, but decided to meet at The iconic Trapp Family Lodge instead. I had seen multiple other photographers photograph weddings and portraits there so I was pretty excited that I would be getting the opportunity to photograph one of my own couples there! It was beautiful, glowy, and perfectly snow covered for that awesome natural reflector on their faces 🙂 I was really looking forward to meeting these two because I follow Emily on social media and she is always making me laugh with her posts so I knew it was going to be a fun session before I even got there and I wasn’t wrong. Emily and Ben are a super sweet couple who I felt like I could connect with from the very beginning. They are personable, funny, in love and are technically already married! They were married in France and are currently planning their second wedding to take place in beautiful Saranac Lake next September! I love how these images turned out so I’m super excited to share my favorites with you guys! Enjoy!
