A Quaint and Romantic Adirondack Wedding
This wedding was a unique one for me because I was only there for 2 hours instead of my normal 8! I don’t normally offer shortened wedding day timelines but I made an exception for this one and I’m so glad I did! Audrey and Andrew’s special day was the perfect way for me to spend my afternoon! I love working with tight-knit families, not only because it makes the day that much more fun, but because I’m super close with my family as well and I place great value on family relationships, so working with couples who feel the same is right up my alley. Upon arrival, I was greeted so warmly by Meghan the coordinator at the venue, as well as friends and family of the happy couple. I met Andrew first who was nice as can be, showing me around the grounds, where the ceremony and reception will be taking place, the easiest way for me to approach each site, what they were hoping to see captured in their images, he covered everything for me so there was no guessing on my part on what was and wasn’t important to them. Normally this is all stuff I ask and get a feel for during couples engagement sessions but because I wasn’t able to spend that time with these two, Andrew’s pre-ceremony tour was just what I needed to feel comfortable and confident in knowing how I was going to approach the rest of the day in way that would serve them best.
The only thing I was slightly nervous about was the weather…It was pouring on my way to the venue, and I mean windshield wipers on super fast, pouring. Audrey specifically mentioned wanting her wedding photos to capture their loved ones who would be in attendance as well as the beauty of the Adirondacks…so yea, I was nervous. Luckily, both Audrey and Andrew were so cool and laid back about the weather, a little threat of rain didn’t bother them one bit, and as fate would have it, just before the ceremony, the sun started to peek through the clouds and a summer warmth blanketed the grounds, almost like Mother Nature knew something special was about to happen. It stayed sunny and warm throughout the entire ceremony and didn’t start sprinkling until the reception, but not before we were able to capture the beauty of the Adirondacks in some newlywed portraits! It was an honor to be there and I can’t wait to share my favorites from this beautiful Adirondack wedding. Congratulations Audrey & Andrew!
