A downtown Plattsburgh engagement session
Last week I got to meet up with Nikki and Nate for their engagement session! They had a few spots in mind around downtown Plattsburgh that I wanted to make sure we hit, but I did end up getting sidetracked along the way when that magical golden hour was upon us! That’s why I ALWAYS try to schedule my clients engagement sessions approximately 2 hours before sunset. That way the light isn’t as harsh and towards the end of the session when the couple is used to my shooting style and we’re feeling comfortable with each other, we are able to capture natural, beautiful images with the best light!
Nikki and Nate are such an incredibly laid back, go with the flow couple. They actually balance each other out extremely well with Nikki being more of an extrovert and Nate being more of an introvert. Even though I was only with this sweet couple for about two hours, it was immediately apparent how INCREDIBLY IN LOVE THEY ARE. I’m a hopeless romantic by nature so to be able to photograph their love story is such an honor for me. They let me try different poses I have been wanting to try for a while which made me so happy and they were up for anything I suggested the entire session. When clients show up having complete faith in me, that is when I’m able to really step outside of my comfort zone and be the creative I was born to be! There’s no greater honor than clients showing up for their session, telling me they love the images on my blog and completely trust me to just do my thing, knowing they will be happy with the results. I used to let that intimidate me, but now I thrive on it. There’s no greater honor than to be entrusted with capturing a couples love for one another!
Nikki and Nate – thank you so much for being such naturals in front of my camera, for being patient when I got sidetracked by good glow, and most of all for trusting me to be your photographer. I can’t wait to see you guys in just a few short months! I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from your session!
