A downtown Plattsburgh Engagement Session
Have you ever heard the saying, “your vibe attracts your tribe”? I like to think of that saying when it comes to my business and here’s why…
I am a firm believer in not being a photographer for everyone. I choose to run my business that way for a few reasons, but the number one reason is because I value the connection I make with my couples and families. I don’t want my services to be just another transaction to someone. When I am able to honestly connect with my clients, they in turn feel comfortable with me and it definitely shows in the final images, not to mention they have WAY more fun at their session! Since starting my business, I have been fortunate enough to work with the best people who I genuinely connect with, and that is something I wasn’t sure if I would be able to do because I’m naturally a shy, introverted person. But something always switches when I have my camera in my hands. My soul gets set on fire and my introverted shyness melts away and all of a sudden I’m a bubbly, excited, and talkative extrovert. WHAT?! I’ve never known this side of me but I have to say, I love it! Because I protrude that kind of excitement for photography, I attract joyful clients who value photography, and Kelsey and Mike just happen to be one of those couples.
I don’t even know where to start in trying to describe how much fun I had at their engagement session. Should I start with the random guy we thought was a cop on a bike? Or maybe the icon of the evening being a random family of groundhogs? Or was it the hilariously staged poses we decided to throw in just for fun? I have never laughed so much through a session or captured more perfect non-posed genuine laughing photos of two people in love. I knew Kelsey and Mike were dream clients from the very beginning and throughout our email chats, I just kept getting more and more excited to hang out with them in person and our time together did not disappoint. When I leave sessions feeling happy and confident about what I was able to capture AND feeling like I just gained two friends, that means the world to me. The icing on the cake? The fact that Kelsey and Mike didn’t even WANT an engagement session when they first booked me, but afterwards told me how happy they were that they decided to do it. They said they had the best time which was so amazing to hear! WIN!
I can’t wait for their big day, I have a feeling it’s going to be a fun one! Kelsey and Mike, I had so much fun with you guys trying to dodge goose poop while capturing your love for each other! 🙂 Thank you for reading your style guide, you both looked SO good! And thank you for being so joyful and energetic throughout the whole session, you made my job easy! I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from our time together!
When there’s a location change but you’re in heels…fiance to the rescue!
