You never know what the weather might be in Upstate New York until the day of, and even then it can be touch and go. I’ve seen weeks where it was 70 and sunny on a Tuesday then 30 and snowing the following Friday. Because of this, I was a little worried after finding out that Arihanna and Adam’s wedding date was in December. I won’t lie, my first thought was that I better start crossing my fingers now and hope for decent weather instead of a snow storm. Luckily, on the days leading up to their wedding, and my constant check of the weather, I saw that it was only supposed to be partly cloudy, no snowflakes in sight. YAY! However, even though there was no snow in the forecast, it was still December, and with that came an overcast sky accompanied by some frigid temperatures. Thankfully, the venue where the bridal party was getting ready, and where the ceremony and reception were set to take place, had lots of windows allowing beautiful natural light to beam in, which created the perfect setup for details and portraits!
This wedding will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the very first one I had the privilege of photographing. They made my job super easy because they were such an easy going couple, even with being surrounded by the chaos that comes with a wedding day. Their love for each other was so apparent and when it came time to read their vows, I will admit I was getting a little teary eyed! It was nothing over the top, just enough to let the other know that they truly felt like they had found their person to walk through life with, and how thankful they were for that and how much they loved one another.
Arihanna and Adam, thank you so much for the trust you placed in me to capture your special day. I had so much fun and seeing the love you share between yourselves and your family and friends is one of the biggest reasons why I am pursuing this career. I hope that with the years to come, you are able to look back on these images and remember how you felt with the ones you love most by your side. I wish you and baby Levi a lifetime of health and happiness together! Enjoy some of my favorites from your day below!
