Engagement Photos at Point au Roche State Park | Plattsburgh, New York
I knew I liked Carlene from her initial inquiry…it was full of exclamation points and smiley faces and I could just tell she was an #erinmariebride from the very beginning and that her and I would hit it off, and I was right! Our mutual love of dogs and the same kind of doughnut are just two of MANY things we have in common! She is so incredibly energetic and sweet and her fiance, Andrew was just the same! Have you ever spent time around a couple and thought “wow they were meant to find each other?” Well that’s how I felt spending time with these two! They have been dating for almost 9 years and you can tell because they compliment each other so well while still being their own person. I felt so lucky to have spent some time walking around our local state park with them and not only lucky but THANKFUL! They drove almost 3 HOURS to meet me for their engagement session…can you believe that?! At the beginning of my business, I only dreamed of one day having couples travel to me so I could photograph their engagement sessions and weddings. Now that it’s happening, I couldn’t be more thankful! Dreams do come true : )
Because I knew Carlene and Andrew were traveling quite a distance for their session, the pressure was on to not only deliver beautiful images, but to give them an overall great first experience as an #erinmariecouple, and I think we nailed both! We had originally scheduled their engagement session to happen on what we thought would be the perfect day…little did we know that mother nature had plans to downpour that day. Luckily, they are both teachers and were on spring break the following week, so we picked a day on the forecast that looked clear, crossed our fingers (since it looked like it was going to rain for what seemed like the next week), and hoped for the best! The weather ended up being in our favor and held out until the very last shot was taken. I couldn’t have timed it any better if I tried! I have a feeling even if it did rain during their session, they would have been fine with it…they are definitely an adventurous couple, and I knew that going in when Carlene told me Andrew proposed during a trip they took out west where they camped in a tent for 2 weeks!! That fact alone was impressive to me because I can barely sleep in a tent for one night let alone two weeks…
I could honestly go on and on about how much fun we had during their session and how much I love these two. And even though the weather didn’t allow for the glow I normally aim for in my images, it didn’t matter at all because Carlene and Andrew brought it themselves. These two are the best of friends and so in love, they are one of those couples that made me think to myself, “Wow, I’m so lucky they picked me.” I’m already counting down the days until their wedding this August, I just know it’s going to be the perfect day! Also, a massive thank you to the incredibly talented Julia from Julia Rebecca Photography for coming along to not only help carry my gear, but also helping me capture this sweet couples love for one another! Enjoy getting to know these two through some of my favorite images from their session!
