Another session from 2021 is on the blog! This time it’s a beautiful family session that took place in downtown Plattsburgh at the historic Kent Delord House. Fun fact about this family, they actually took our wedding photos back in the day! It’s so surreal to me that now I can bless them with memories just as they did for us almost 7 years ago now!! Wow time flies!
This isn’t the first time I’ve been able to do photos for the Burns. I’m so honored that they trust me year after year to capture their family. This particular session kept me on my toes and tested my abilities for sure, but I didn’t let that deter me. I tried to embrace the chaos and focus on the beauty and individuality that is unique to this family. If you try to control a family session, especially when multiple little kids are involved, you’re guaranteed to get frustrated and end up with images that don’t bring you or your clients joy. If you accept and embrace what’s happening in the moment and capture what is naturally unfolding, you’ll be MUCH happier with the results and will be able to deliver a gallery that is 100% authentic to your client. Just a little Friday education for you fellow photogs who may just be starting out!
Jared and Debbie, thank you SO much for trusting me with your family memories. It’s always a hectic good time when we get together and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else!
