Whenever I’m able to meet up with a couple in a new location, especially one that holds special meaning to them, my photographer heart is just so happy! Don’t get me wrong, I have my own list of go to spots that I love for sessions, but believe me when I say, couples who are in a location that they love just have such a great initial sense of calm to them. Engagement sessions can be overwhelming, especially to those who haven’t had professional photos done before or who just don’t like their photo taken in general. Being calm and relaxed shows through in your images, so if you’re wearing what makes you feel confident, in a place you love, next to the person you love, magic will 100% be made, and that’s what happened with Jill and Eric.
These two actually found me through Eric’s sister Sam, who just so happens to be a good friend of mine. I have been taking family photos for Sam for years! She was actually one of the first people I convinced to let me take her family photos when I was just starting my business for practice. A few years later, I ended up photographing her sister in law’s wedding, which is where I met Jill and Eric. Jill’s initial email to me said she loved the photos and would be delighted to work with me! *Swoon* There’s honestly no greater compliment to a photographer aside from “You made us feel so comfortable during our session!” I was so excited when they booked, I love this family so much, they are literally some of the nicest most genuine people, I’m honored to be their family photographer 😉
I met up with Jill and Eric on a beautiful summer day down at the Jay covered bridge just a couple of weeks ago. I was blown away by the view, and after chatting with them a bit, I knew we were about to have so much fun together and I was right! These two are quite literally soul mates and what’s funny is they both thought they didn’t like one another when they first met. They say it was because they were both awkward because they liked each other but no one made the first move until they attended a concert together. According to Eric, that’s when it clicked for them and the rest is history!
Jill and Eric, thank you so much for allowing me to capture this special time in your lives together as one another’s fiancée’s! I can’t wait for the big day!
