One thing you should know about me if you’re considering hiring me as your wedding photographer is, I don’t particularly enjoy Pinterest shot lists. What do I mean by that? Well chances are, you’ve seen some gorgeous wedding photos on Pinterest that you want to recreate in your own wedding images. What starts as a couple photos turns into a list and it just seems right to hand that list to your photographer, you know, the one in charge of your wedding photos right? WRONG. Sorry that was aggressive haha! But in all seriousness, when you’re hiring a professional wedding vendor, you’re hiring them because you fell in love with their portfolio, their vision, their years of experience, etc. What a shot list does for a photographer is it makes our creativity go out the window so we can just focus on the list you gave us. It kind of crumbles us up and makes us go into autopilot mode and that’s not fun for anyone. Now this isn’t to say that you shouldn’t let us know of one or two shots you most definitely want to capture, which is exactly what Maggie and Jeff did.
Maggie and Jeff went to prom together and before they left for the evening, had their photo taken in Maggie’s moms kitchen. They described the photo to me and wanted to recreate it only this time they would be in their wedding attire. Let me tell you, I was more than happy to do this for them! This is extremely different than giving me a shot list, this was them allowing me to capture something meaningful to them that I wouldn’t have taken if they hadn’t told me about it. Chances are with shot lists, your photographer will get it all plus some so there’s really no need to worry 😉
I had such an incredible time celebrating with Maggie and Jeff. They are truly such a kind and genuine couple, and trusted me from the very beginning! They are the kind of couple that you know will stand the test of time because they are just destined to be together, but also because they will put in the work that every marriage needs. It’s not just about love and these two understand that 110%.
Maggie and Jeff, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your perfect day. It meant so much to me that you wanted me there and I loved reliving your day putting together this blog post! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and hope you keep each other laughing for years and years to come!
Massive thank you to all of the vendors who made this beautiful day possible!
