Where do I even begin this blog post?! Madison and Ethan were my first official wedding for 2021, and it didn’t disappoint! Everything from her dress, to the tuxes, to the florals, to the venue, to the dancing, all of it was just perfect! I had been looking forward to this day ever since I first met Madison and Ethan for their engagement session one year ago! However, I can’t say I’ve been anxiously awaiting this day as long as they have. These two love birds have been together since high school and have been together now for over 10 years!! How amazing is that, when you know you know and these two obviously knew 😉
I adored every single moment I got to spend with Madison and Ethan. They are both just the sweetest people and the bridal party toasts at the reception proved that everyone in their circle of loved ones feels the same. As with every wedding day, I was watching the forecast like a hawk to see what we would have to face. It was forecasting rain showers off and on all day and I crossed my fingers so hard that wouldn’t actually be the case. Day of, everything was beautiful but it was HOT and it was WINDY. It was the kind of weather where you just know rain is knocking on the door. Luckily, the venue that Madison and Ethan picked has a beautiful covered ceremony space and enclosed reception, so I knew we would be fine there, it was portrait time I was nervous about. I tried not to dwell, I photographed Madison and her girls getting ready, all of her bridal details, her getting into her dress, then it was time for her first look with Ethan. I peeked outside and the weather was still holding out for us, thank goodness! Madison and Ethan shared the sweetest first look and then it was right into portrait time. We were able to get a good amount in about a 10 minute time span. We were just heading to our last spot when Madison looked at me with wide eyes and said “Oh no.” All of a sudden, massive rain drops were falling from the sky seemingly out of nowhere so we ran for cover and decided it was the perfect time to stop so Madison and Ethan could touch up and get ready for the ceremony.
That was the only time the rain interfered with their beautiful day. Have you ever heard the saying, “Rain on a wedding day is good luck for the couple”? It’s almost like Mother Nature had to bless them with her good luck and then she was on her way. We were even able to get beautiful sunset portraits! My favorite!! Madison and Ethan, thank you SO SO MUCH for allowing me to be your professional third wheel. You two truly are a dream couple and it was an honor being able to work with you and meet your families. Enjoy scrolling through my favorites from your special day!
