I got to meet up with the Jennett family this past Monday and I could not have asked for a better family to kick off my 2018 season!! I was so excited to get these guys in front of my camera and they did not disappoint! Monday was also their daughter Cali’s 1st birthday so we made the most of our time and captured not only some adorable family photos, but some equally adorable “cake smash” shots! You’ll see why I put “cake smash” in quotation marks in a little bit 😉
Kim and I first met in college at Plattsburgh State where we shared the same major, Human Development & Family Relations. Kim is literally one of the sweetest human beings I have ever met so I was so excited when I received an email from her asking if I would be able to capture their family photos! It’s always a little nerve wracking when it comes to infants because you just never know how they will take to someone they have never met before, but Cali was SO well behaved and rocked that pink tutu dress like it was her job! She also has a bottom lip that is capable of melting any heart! Seriously, it was out almost the ENTIRE session but not in a pouting way! It was adorable and Kim even said they saw it that way on ultrasounds before Cali even arrived into the world!!
When we finished up all of the inside shots, we ventured outside to take advantage of the sunlight for as long as the frigid temperatures would allow. To my surprise, Cali was an absolute CHAMP. Tutu and all. When it was time to bring out the cake, we soon realized that the frosting was definitely not “smash worthy” to no fault of anyone’s! It just didn’t have time to soften up and the cold temps didn’t help at all, but that didn’t stop Cali from digging in as much as her little fingers would let her!
Kim and Jeremy, thank you for graciously allowing me into your beautiful home and giving me the opportunity to capture your beautiful family photos! Enjoy some of my favorites from your session below; I hope you love them as much as I do!
