A Goldendoodle Sunday Funday!

It was a little after 11:30 on a Sunday morning. I was sitting in my car, making sure I had my camera set and ready to go, when I looked to my left and saw the fluffiest faces smiling back at me! I had heard countless stories, seen countless pictures of George and Bitsy, but nothing compared to finally being able to meet them in person. I got out of my car and was immediately given a proper Goldendoodle greeting, full of tail wagging, excited whining, and all the jumping. I know how it can be when your dog jumps on strangers. I get so annoyed but I know I can’t help it, they are just so excited to meet new people, so I obviously didn’t mind George and Bitsy’s acceptance of me one bit!

One of the perks that comes with being a photographer is not only photographing adorable couples and families, but also equally adorable pets, and George and Bitsy were no exception! They are 3 year old F1 Goldendoodle siblings, which simply means that a poodle was mated with a golden retriever and voila! Originally, their mom, Anna, and her family were only meant to take one home from the litter, and that one was George. On the day of pickup, the seller contacted them and said that George and his little sister Bitsy were extremely attached and they were really hoping they would be able to go home together. Of course, Anna and her family knew they couldn’t take one without the other, so now they are living happily under the same roof with a family that adores them as if they were their own children.

George and Bitsy are also pretty famous on Instagram! @doublethedoodle has over 1500 followers and if you aren’t one of those 1500 yet, you should head over to Instagram and follow along with their adventures! We had so much fun running around the Oval on the air force base on Sunday and I hope that my session with them was the first of many! Enjoy some of my favorite shots from their session below!
